Acan Lovers - What Lights Are You Using?

I'm running two AI Hydra fixtures over my acans, which are in my frag tank, a 60 gallon Deep Blue professional reef ready frag tank.

My acans are primarily under 4 T5 bulbs, actinic, coral daylight, purple, and 14k supplemented with a true blue LED strip. They are on the sand bed and have kept pretty good color.

I was keeping my acans under a GHL Mitras, and then a 250w radium. Under the Mitras they faded significantly and went to more monochromatic colors... Radium everything went orange. I then setup a tank dedicated to LPS. It is lit by 4-24w T5s. All ATI bulbs. 2 x Blue+, Purple+, and Coral+. Love the color combo and my acans are all starting to get their rainbow back after only 2 weeks!!!

I have mine under ai hydra and have been producing heads like crazy.

Mine definitely grew under led, but never held their rainbow colors. I was running 4 t5 with my Mitras.

I have a lot of acans coming next week from me coral. I will keep updating this post and my build log.

I run LED's, and I noticed that the acans tend to change color at first, and then will either slowly return to their original coloring or stay that different shade.

That said, they fared a lot better in the shadows in my LED lit tank.

I moved one of my rainbow acan colonies over to my led lit tank. It looked like a ball of red poo for a couple of months, but it is now starting to gain beautiful colors back to it. I will try to post pica in a littl

the inly acans that seem to so well under my LEDs are the purple and green ones. it just seems that acans don't like leds all that much.
