My new bulbs are coming friday, how do I need to go about acclimating? I'm going from crap to some of the best bulbs that have ever been lit on earth, so its gonna be a change.

I'm assuming this is on a reef tank with corals........
I've always used the window screen method.
Get enough window screen material to cover your tank 4 times. I like using eggcrate to support the screen material.
Every 4 days remove one layer.

Yea I have corals, Ive heard of this method and just cutting down the run time, just didnt know which would work best, 75 gallon standard with mostly lps. I will be adding some sps frags that are in my sons tank. Do I need to add those and acclimate everything or let the new bulbs burn for awhile before adding the sps?

yeah use the screen method and remove the layers as time goes by , can you raise the lights or are they fixed in position under canopy? I wouldn't add the sps from the other tank till the bulbs are burned for a while and even then they should start at the lowest possible place in your tank to be safe.
