I'm wanting to do my diy box. Looking for ideas and pics. I'm thinking egg crate cause I have a lot laying around.

Be careful of that, depending on the fish, they can hurt themselves against the egg crate. I wouldn't advise it.

I use different size plastic critter boxes and just drill small holes in the slides I just use magnets to hold them to the side of the tank
