Acetal Delrin

Forgive me if im posting this in the wrong forum but I couldn't find any information on the subject and could not think of anyone better to ask :)

Instead of purchasing acrylic... I have free access to large sheets of black Acetal Delrin that I wanted to use to make frag racks, probe holders etc.

Any thoughts if it is reef safe or would have any long term chemical reactions?

Will be fine. I have used uhmw a ton as well. All inert plastic.

UHMW (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene, I presume) is a different material than Delrin. All types of polyethylene and polypropylene are safe unless something unusual is added.

I would not use Delrin in acid as that may break it down, but reef tank water should be OK.

I know this is old, but I would like to add that ORA grows their coral on Delrin acetal frag plugs, so it is safe.
