here is the piece - it's the big one on the shelf. my camera doesn't pick up the brilliant blue color, but is the id correct? at this placement, it is directly in between two 250w ushio 20k bulbs in lumenarc reflectors. i also use 2 vho super actinics.

I agree, more like a. samoensis. Both a. sam and humilis prefer high light and flow.

cool - thanks!

think it should do fine where it's at, at least for the time being. there's not exactly a "low flow" or "low light" spot in my tank. :)

definitely agree, i have 3 humulis as i love the thick tabling growth when the get mature and all three love the highest amount of light and flow, to get that tight tabling growth the really need to get blasted with flow.

Mine started out on a piece of live rock. I saw a little bit of green color on some newly fresh shipped totoka rock. But anyways I chipped it off, it was 1/4 inch and covered in algae....which kept it moist...

Now it is a 4" wide colony. But that being said, mine is halfway down in the tank under a 400 watt 20k xm, but 6" from one of my large wave boxes.

Hope the info helps, oh tank is 30" deep
