im trying to boost my sps growth. I been dosing acro power once a week at 20ml with my 105 gallon total. It says you can dose more.

Should I?

What do you dose your acro power??

As long as you don't get a cyano bloom sure you can dose more but i would just feed my fish more or broadcast some reef roids phosphates really help them grow and color.

usually dosing aminos acid can result in cyano, I would back off dosing just feed your fish more or get more fish if you are low stocked. Nothing feeds sps better than some fish poo!

I agree, dosing more Acro Power is not going to increase growth. The best thing to increase sps growth is flow, lots and lots of flow. Its almost impossible to have too much flow in an sps tank. Next is lighting, intense high quality lighting effect growth and color. Nutrients, food or no3 and po4 would be last imo. Unless you are doing some form of carbon dosing or have a very light bio load (not in your case) then its very likely there is enough nutrients to support coral growth. If you need to clean your glass at least once a week and your corals have good color its safe to say you have enough nutrients for them be it in the form or no3 and po4, aminos or food particals. And of coarse if your tank parameters are not stable then having eveything else perfect means nothing.

When healthy acros grow very fast so perhaps you're not stable yet? Food, like Reef Chili or Reef Roids will result in faster growth, aminos usually just help color, at least in my experience. Like desert reefer says above, you probably need more flow because most severely underestimate just how much flow acros like. If you have sand and it's not moving you need more flow. :)

I was dosing 5ML per day (recommended) for 1 year, More so when my nutrients where lower but when I started dosing 5ML every 3-4 days I noticed less algae and better growth. I think its good to use 1/2 recommended and focus on keeping your nutrients slightly elevated. I would never use this product on a doser.

I just mixed up a weak solution of glutamic and aspartic acids after I ran out of Acropower. It works better at promoting polyp extension, so I use much less than acropower dosage volume. I feed chroma+, reef chili and reefroids at the same time. Seems to be working well so far. Been doing this for a month or so and my tank is doing very well. No fish in this system so that’s why I have to feed so much.

I keep trying to adjust my pumps so I have tons of flow but not blow my sand around. Alas I know it cant be done and I should have done BB or need to put in some coarser substrate.
