My acropora bleached suddenly about two months ago or so and I just left in the tank moved it lower, thinking maybe I had too much light.
It's been slowly browning and now is dark brown. Any ideas as what is going on?

Look up--"zooxanthellae"

A bleached coral is not dead, but will die if it's life line zooxanthellae algae doesn't return to its skeleton when proper params are restored.

Did you by any chance just use a product in your tank claiming to brighten corals? This could be the culprit as most of those products are just boosting your zooxanthellae population (which can be devastating if population is too high)

A lot of the Red Sea test kits have interesting facts in the booklets about this symbiotic relationship between the coral and zooxanthellae, and how your parameter levels effect the color and overall vitality of your coral.
