Hello, I got this Acro a couple weeks ago and until this morning it was looking okay. This morning however it looks like it has lost half its tissue and when I took it out to frag the bit that still has tissue left, it smelt like nothing I have ever smelt before. It was awful!
I had an alk swing around the time I put the acro in due to Hanna test kit being wrong and me not cross checking it with another test kit (lesson learned the hard way). Could it be the alk swing that caused this?
The rest of my parameters have been stable for a while.
Alk 8.6 (swung to 10 over a week due to overdosing, reduced back to 8.6 over a week)
Cal 420 - stable
Mag 1300 - stable
Nit 8 - stable
Phos 0.15 - a little unstable, was 0.08 a few weeks ago
Salinity 1.025 - stable
So I'm wondering if the frag can be saved, should I dip it? Was it likely the alk swing that caused this? Could it be too much light?
I have other acro/SPS that are doing just fine. The other acro has some minor tip bleaching but seems to be pulling through.
Photos in order: acro when first put in tank, this morning STN, the frag I cut off
Thanks
