How long does it take to heal after flatworms or is it pretty much doomed after damage from them?

Are they all out?
If yes, they can heal. Don't know how long, to many variables.

"Heal" is probably not a good term for flatworm injury. They kill the flesh they attacked leaving a dead skeleton behind. Coral may regrow and cover an area, or it may not. Flatworms attack the base and work up, growing tips can be cut from their "dead" bases and glued onto base rocks to start new colonies, or left in place they will grow up, and to some extent down to recover the dead base. The growth in most tanks does not form the same heavy base attachment in aquariums as is found in the wild (in a general sense, ) Our tanks (lighting and water movement) promote fast upward growth compared to wild corals.

Yes I believe I got all the worms off (2). However there may be eggs. I certainly inspected for them and did not find them. I did a dip with basting in Coral Rx to knock them off. I also inspected all my other acros and have so far found no evidence of the flatworms on them. I ordered Interceptor for in tank treatment. Should be here within the week. Here is the coral during the dip.

Interceptor is used to treat for red bugs and will not help with the flatworms. That looks like damage that will heal quickly in good conditions.

OP might be referring to interceptor plus with praziquantel….which some recent studies have shown will kill the aefw but I don’t know the dosage

That is new info to me about Prazi and worms. I will look around for some of those studies.
