Guys,
I’m sure the goal is to keep ph as stable as possible along with all other water chemistry parameters. My ph swings about .2 from lights out to peak lighting. Low is about 7.85 and high is about 8.05. Will the swing have a long term effect to sps?

I don’t use a calcium reactor. I do dos calcium and alk via a dos. I also use a co2 scrubber reactor with high co2 in home, most likely due to 2 large dogs living in same room as display...

Thoughts??

All I can say - stop chasing pH numbers. It's all about stability .
Talk to any experienced acro keeper and you will see it's pointless to chase pH . And if still not convinced see this presentation by Jason fox at Reef Currents 2017

Will change a lot of acro keeping perspective .

Abhishek

I dont pay much attention to it outside of the diurnal swing (potential cue to something happening). When the range starts to float outside what I know is logical, I replace the probe but that is about it.

I would challenge the stability idea with respect to pH. I think higher pH with a swing is usually better than low pH without one, at least if coral growth is the goal.

Studies have shown that even part of the day at normal pH leads to better growth than a steady low pH.

In that respect, your pH swing and range look good. :)
