Hey all, so I butchered my sump build and I am looking for potential fixes that don't involve a complete repurchase of acrylic. I have found these triangle acrylic rods that could very easily be assembled into the corners, but I am unsure if this will do the job. Has anyone tried this or seen it functional?

The problem is that I had not experimented with getting a good finish before welding. Pictured here is the worst, but a very small percentage actually turned out well. Lots of mistakes, namely I think I should have been using a lot more clamping pressure, because I didn't use any for the first few panels. They looked perfect when I left, but once all of the #4 had dried, I was left with poop. In some cases I just didn't use enough. It is quite strong, but frankly I don't trust it.

They worked pretty well if anyone cares to know lol. Definitely not a clean fix that I would use on a display, but for a sump it is totally perfect. Similar finish to sloppily applying silicone, but much better sealing for the acrylic.

Are you still using this sump? Any leak issues?

Weldon #4 works very well and rods or braces shown would have been answer

dang I know I have been taking too long on my build when people are asking if I am still using it, and I haven't even set it up yet! But yeah it sealed up nice. The braces pretty well liquified and when I pressed them in place they shot into the cracks and filled in a bit on the joints that were otherwise pretty gross. If you have any doubt in your sump it is worth the try. Hardest part is figuring out a good way to push it into the corner with a weight that won't stick to the melted corner brace. I used metal rods and it worked okay.

Thanks for the reply! And I hope you can use it soon :)

I actually used square rod braces on mine just for (hopeful) extra protection from leakage. Tested it over the past 24 hours and so far so good. I ran across your post looking for something else and was curious about long term success. Hopefully we are both good with that. First time building anything that holds water so it makes me a little nervous.
