Acrylic/plastic tubing

I have a doser set up on my fiji cube sump. Unfortunately i'm stuck with 2 options if I just feed my hose into the stock bracket. My tube hangs close to the water but out of it, and it spins and splashes as it pumps, getting some All for Reef on the side of the tank, or I keep it up high and it still somehow splashes on the side of the tank. Wondering if I could buy and appropriately sized acrylic or plastic tube, and set it up to go through the bracket, but heat it up and do an offset so that it dispenses more towards the center and away from the wall? Plus being rigid it wouldnt vibrate around. I just dont know if acrylic will be easily bendable with a little bit of heat? Also, is it just 1/4" O.D. tubing?

BRS has the 1/4 tubing and you could use the 1/4 connector to connect both or just a RO union as well

Eggie may be on to something...

1/4" RO tube is very pliable and you could just bend it by hand. You would just need the appropriate sized barb adapter for you existing doser tubing and a John Guest/push-to-connect couple to join them together.

If you decided to try acrylic tubing...

I've bent flat, 1/8" thick acrylic sheet with a brûlée gun (have to be careful not to overheat or burn it).

A heat gun would probably work even better.

If you're thinking of just trying a hair dryer or something like that, though, I don't know if it will get the acrylic warm enough to bend.

The larger the bend radius the better, too. Too small/sharp and it will likely kink. If you have a 1/2" ... 3/4" ... or even a 1" diameter form to bend it over — a wood dowel, piece of pvc pipe,grip of a baseball bat, etc. — it should work great.

The RO tubing would likely be the cheap and easier option though.

I think i'll try the acrylic tubing route. I think it would look really clean, and once finished and dialed in, should be incredibly low maintenance as far as moving around. I'll stick it up through the rack, then the hole in the top of the sump, and stick a couple o-rings on it to hold it in place!

a barbed 45 elbow would also do the job here!

Acrylic pipe can be cut and welded, too! — it could be worth looking at cheap off the shelf acrylic U-pipes to make custom shapes from without specialized pipe heat bending tools on hand!

(The only reliable way to maintain acrylic pipe ID during a heat bend that I know of is inserting a tight fit firm silicone rod!)
