Does anyone know if the testors plastic cement would work to weld or glue a crack in an acrylic skimmer body? It says that it melts the plastic to create the bond. (Trying to find a product I can source locally).

Any idea where I may be able to source that locally. If it's acrylic I would use Weldon 16. Both sides.
Ed's hardware down the road about a quarter mile past the golden arches.Any idea where I may be able to source that locally.
A local acrylic fabricator or shop would know or Amazon.Any idea where I may be able to source that locally.
We don’t have any acrylic fab shops local. When I looked at it on Amazon the shipping was more than the product and like over a week out is why I wanting to see if I could find something local.A local acrylic fabricator or shop would know or Amazon.
Wish you luck. That's my recommendation. We don’t have any acrylic fab shops local. When I looked at it on Amazon the shipping was more than the product and like over a week out is why I wanting to see if I could find something local.
Oh I agree. I’d like to have some on hand for repairs. Unfortunately things generally don’t go as planned for me lol.Wish you luck. That's my recommendation.
Maybe someone else will ok something else.
I bought a big thing of it about 2 years ago to make my current sump etc.
Always good to keep on hand to repair
Will the super glue be strong enough to handle the cup being put on and taken off regularly? I thought about it I was just concerned it might not hold up and was worried about it messing up future use of acrylic solvent.Super glue will work as long as you don't mind what it looks like. It has a tendency to turn the acrylic white where it comes in contact.
I would imagine so, but I can't say that I'd bet on it. I've heard that clear PVC glue will work on acrylic in a pinch, but again - I've never personally tried it.Will the super glue be strong enough to handle the cup being put on and taken off regularly? I have no experience with joining acrylic and just don’t want to make a bad situation worse.
I guess sometimes it just takes someone else doing the thinking for you. I have a 3d printer sitting in the same room lol. Printing a sleeve now. Thank you.a couple of plastic ziptie and superglue or a plastic hose clamp and some glue, or if you know someone with a 3d printer you get a exact diameter 5cm pipe to slide right on the skimmer with some glue on it
