Activated carbon being magnetic?

Yes, that would be why it is magnetic. It's also why I wouldn't risk it. It's not going to be pure iron, and it may not only be buried inside it.

BRS Rox carboin is made of what then? I'm assuming its coal as well but put through a much better process to remove unwanted material?

I don't know but I watched a video showing the different types of carbon being used to remove toxins and medicines out of the water and the brs rox outperformed every other brand and form by a large margin.

I don't believe that Cabot says exactly what they use, but ROX is a very high quality material used for critical applications such as pharmaceuticals.

Also, saying any carbon is made from coal says little about the quality of the final product, since coal varies a lot, and the processing impacts the final product.

Randy I can't thank you enough for you time and insight on this little problem. Will be placing my order with BRS today for some Rox.
