I was looking for a little advice on adding a small tang to my system. I have three tangs now, I have a yellow tang and a tomini tang, both of which are around 4”. I also have a half black mimic tang which is about 2”. They all get along fairly well except the tomini tang can occasionally be a bully.

Would it be a bad idea to introduce a very small hippo tang? He’s around 1”. I would start with an acclimation box and go from there.

How big is your tank?
I would not add one that small with the others larger and established. I would look for one that is the same size or maybe slightly larger than you existing tangs before adding it.

Tried it i wouldn't recommend it, you will be pulling all your tangs out and putting them into a QT after that little guy gets ick. I found out the hard way thankfully my chevron is happy and ick free back in my tank

I have a 125 right now with plans to upgrade. The yellow has been in there for about 8 months, tomini for 2 months and the half black mimic for 3 weeks.
