Adding Black and White Ocellaris Clowns Question.

Back when I had just a FOWLR tank I had a pair of B&W Clowns and my wife really liked them so I was thinking of adding a pair to the tank but I have a True Percula that was the female of a mated pair but the male jumped out at night and lost him, she has jumped out 3 times during the day and our dog alerted us so she survives and has become my favorite for what she has endured! i have 4 fish, a yellow Tang, Fire Angel (dwarf), Fairy Wrasse and her and they all get a long great. Do you all think I would be upsetting the apple cart adding the Ocellaris Clowns to my tank? Thanks. Oh and yes, I have a screen cover now.

If your tank is large enough this “could” work, every clown has its own mind about whats its territory and how hard to defend it.

Some folks report success of mixing an occ with a perc, so it's possible you could get away with adding one black and white occ. I wouldn't try to add two.

I would consider her to be medium size now, would I be better off getting a small Percula instead? I feel sorry for her as she just hangs by her self now that her mate died except at feeding time.

You can try a single small male B/W or True Percula and I recommend using a hang on acclimation box. If they are showing signs of getting along after a few days, try letting the small one out and hope for the best

I have a ‘mixed’ pair that is the result of adding the smaller B/W later. They spawn regularly.
