I'm thinking of adding some extra carribsea life rock to my already cycled tank. Lacking in hiding spots for the fish as they seem to be sleeping in the top corners/overflow etc.

As carribsea rock is meant to already have bacteria on it, am I able to simply just rinse it off and place in DT? Or will I get a spike and run into algea issues/another ugly phase?

Any advice would be great!

Thanks

You can just put it in. The new rock will get some diatoms on it but no biggie. I do this often with Caribsea liferock. One note, I have fish only tanks so I don't keep parameters for Phos super low.. New rock could add a little phosphate.

I'd just rinse it with some tank water next water change, let it soak for a day, then put it in.
