Thinking of trying to add a decent size gem tang (4 inch) to my 200g with some pretty fat 4+ inch tangs; yellow, Desjardini and Achilles. Those are who I'm worried about. I also have a blonde naso, white tail kole, hippo, fox face and a bunch of non tang fish.

Is this a bad idea? Am I asking for a royal rumble? Wouldn't be so bad but with hawaii closed down and super high prices, I'm worried the risk isn't worth the reward. I have an opportunity to buy nice quarantined, healthy eating gem ....

Don’t see a relation or issue. I have 18 tangs and these are all in my tank

It’s a hit or miss. Vetteguy is a pro, if I were to try to add a gem to my YT and Tomini and Potters, it would die quick. When I still had my Achilles, it would die sooner. 200g also.

Hrmm. I have researching for a couple of days. Some didn't have an issue after the first 30-60 minutes. Others had to remove the problem tang in order to keep the gem.

Here is a case I went through...in the END it worked out fine...

Long story short, a big acclimation box is how I won this “fight”.

What are the dimensions of the tank?

200 is pretty tight for some of those species, individually.

My white tail was the ****** when I added a gem to my 220. I’d definitely use an acclimation box first
