Can/should it be done successfully? Tailspot is currently in a 32 with no other veterbrate occupants. Both are supposed to be peaceful. I have heard pygmy hawkfish can sometimes have issues with blennies and gobies. Pygmy hawkfish is listed as compatible with blennies on liveaquaria on the chart. Also, I believe the pygmy hawkfish is not a true hawkfish and technically from a seperate family so maybe not as aggressive as typical hawkfish?

Thoughts?

I had this exact pair in a 38gal. They lived together peacefully. You’re right in that the geometric hawkfish isn’t an actual hawkfish. It’s very peaceful but also likes to perch and watch like a standard hawkfish. People say if you place it in a tank with a ton of live rock you will hardly see it. I didn’t have too much live rock in my display and he was out and about a lot.

Just don’t add a Candy Hogfish to the mix unless you want to have to remove the geometric hawkfish in order to save it from getting beaten up and chased endlessly.
