I know the rule is 1 fish per month generally. However, a very reputable marine fish stories having a buy one get one half off sale. How bad am I if I add a hippo and a flame angel at the same time?

There are several things to consider here. The size of your system the age of the system and what you already have stock or some. if you're talking about throwing them in a 55 gallon more than likely you will have problems. And if you were talking something like a 180 gallon, then you should be ok. emphasis on should. I've always added fish and groups to my tanks but the way I am set up allows me to do so

As long as your system can handle them, theres no problem adding those 2 at the same time.

Agreed. If you already have a few fish adding 2 shouldnt pose a problem.

Established lightly stocked tank. One ocelleris, royal gramma, 2 nems, fox face. 80 gallons with 30 gallon sump. I think I should be ok. Thanks everyone!

Personally I would pass on the blue tang because they require a tank much larger.

+1 for passing on the blue, unless he is tiny and you plan on selling him once he gets big. Just because he will get aggressive. How about a yellow tang?

I thought about passing in the Hippo. Love the yellow for sure. But, I want some blue color in the tank. Can't do emperor since it is a mixed reef. Any other blue fish suggestions?
