Hello reefers,

I have a 24"x16"x20" mix reef tank that is currently being lit up by Noopsyche k7proIII v3 140w mounted at 12" above the waterline (recommended height by the manufacturer for optimum spread).

I have no access (yet) to the PAR meter here in Indonesia, but I saw a Noopsyche pro v3 PAR test video made by Simply Reefing on YouTube which has pretty close tank-to-light measurements with mine so I guesstimated my PAR readings are sufficient, related to coral my placement. I like the growth and coloration it produces so far, but the LED does what it does and I'm looking to eliminate shadows, increase PAR and spectrum, and soften the shimmer (hopefully) by adding ATI T5 bulbs placed on the front and back of the LED fixture.

I'm curious how many, how highly mounted, and which bulbs would you recommend for my tank?

Here is a picture of said tank

I would think you will be limited to a single 24w or 2ft T5 front and back. More than that and you’ll just be lighting the floor/wall.

Looking back to your reefing roots: Did you start with Instant Ocean salt?
