Installed CO2 scrubber 2 1/2 months ago. Recirculating air through protein skimmer cup. After the 2 1/2 months pH started to go down. Replaced CO2 media and pH shot up to 8.4.

Is there a way to control CO2 scrubber to keep Ph around 8.35?

Also with pH at 8.4, my Alk has dropped to 8.1 (Alk was at 8.5 with pH at 8.2). Would like to get Alk back to 8.5 with pH at 8.35. Already dosing 90ml of Alk daily. Suggestions?

Thank you!

Big issues is finding a 3-way solenoid valve. I haven't been able to find one yet. Most require pressure to work.

I'll probably just get 2 normally closed solenoids and put them in parallel.

So far, I've only had to manually switch to pH down mode (house CO2 rich air) during the day when the lights start to peak.

Thanks for the follow up. Was going to ask about the solenoids and installation.

I’m having the same issue - CO2 scrubber works too well and takes my pH to 8.45 before my Apex tells skimmer to shut off. Apex tells skimmer to come back on when pH gets back to 8.35.

Like the way your Kalk keeps pH up at night. Mine drops to 8.3.

You can also do high-ph 2-part.

As I'm at my evaporation limit for kalk dosing, I'm probably going to add All-for-Reef to feed any increasing demand. I'm just concerned about using dKH measurements as I wanted to have automatic adjustments...so still might go 2-part. All-for-Reef has a delayed impact to dKH and it appears coral may be able to directly use Calcium Formate.
