So I've had this skimmer and tank set up for approximately 9 months. Today I had someone redo my tank for me and they have told me that my sump was too deep. The water level in the sump was lowered to 7 inches (was about 10) and my skimmer is now just putting out such wet skimmate, it might as well be water. The skimmer is completely "Open" and my bubbles are still above the neck of the collection cup. I've even put it on stand and it's in about 4-5 inches of water with no change. Any suggestions?

You need to raise the water height or lower skimmer if possible to compensate for water level issue causing this

The lower I put the skimmer in the water (Deeper) the faster the bubbles just rush to the top
Perfect you got your answer. You need to raise the skimmer. You can build ashelf/platform with egg crate otherwise there are skimmer shelves for sale. Mine sits on one
