Welcome to Reef2Reef!!! Many of us started out with (and some of us even still keep) freshwater so I think you'll find this to be a nice place to learn and to hang out.

Hello! I'm a freshwater person wanting to dive in to the reef world. Not ready just yet, so I'll admire from afar.

Welcome! I'm Lisa. Glad you joined. I started in freshwater also. In my experience, it is very similar between freshwater and saltwater fish only setup (what is called FOWLR because rocks (and sand) have bacteria (but used to have more critters) = Fish Only With Live Rock).

This might help you find people local to you:

This is a good reference book type online article I still review:

Welcome to R2R! I kept freshwater fish off and on (more on than off) for close to 20 years before I started my first reef way back in 2009. Researching before starting a reef or FOWLR will make you a better saltwater fish keeper/reefer. There are a bunch of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people here for when you have questions.
