I added an algae blenny and a kole tang into my tank about 2 months ago. Kole tang is great, picks at everything (including corals... ugh) but is super aggressive towards the blenny. Anytime he wants to do his algae eating thing, the Kole attacks him. Poor guy is really thin, and this morning he was lying on the sand, the kole still attacking, but the blenny wouldnt even move. I caught him and stuck him in a 10 gal. for now. I'm wondering if he pulls through should I even bother putting him back in the tank, should I trade him in and get a bigger one, or should I just think about a different fish all together?

Definitely don't think it should be put back with the tang way it sounds. I'd probably trade it in for another fish. Sorry the koles being a bully I loved our old kole was a great fish and model citizen.

I agree. Don't add the blenny back in. The kole seema intolerant of any other herbivores. Try a different type of fish.

I have the same problem with my lawnmower and the kole. Lawnmower hides, when he does come out the kole just chases him back in the rocks. He is still eating some how. He was in the tank first then I added the kole. But the kole is the boss. Don't put yours back in to get bullied again.

Sad news to report, the blenny was found dead this morning, guess too much stress. I thought the lawnmowers were safe because they can get cranky sometimes... oh well. Anyother good algae eaters? Thanks
