All,

I just bought the 61" Dx18 Aquaticlife Hybrid to mount over my 180g.

I attached 3 pics: 1) diagram of how I intend on hanging it (note: there are 2x5s inside the pillar) 2) Lowes L Bracket 3) hybrid fixture loop to connect to bracket

My question is how should I connect the loop in picture 3, safely to the L bracket in picture 2?

There's a hole near the end tip of the bracket but what worries me is that the loop will have to be pulled to one side vs straight down as if it were hanging on a hook. Is that OK or any safer suggestions?

Thx. Guess it was a dumb question in a way. But I hope that the weight on that one hole thats almost 10" out on the horizontal span can hold all that weight

those lights don't weigh anywhere near what those brackets are rated for. You'll be just fine. The bigger question is - will they stick out far enough from the wall to so that the lights are centered over the tank?
