Advice for Mariculture colonies

Keeping your Alk lower would help if you main goal is to acquire a mainly Maricultured pieces. Below 8 preferably 7.5-7.8 ideally. I'd go further and say as close as you can get to ocean parameters on everything would give the pieces the best chance at survival. These pieces have to deal with a lot of stuff they don't normally have to in the wild. Add to that different chemistry and you can see why the survival rate is less than desirable. Time is also something you can't make up. Your tank will be in much better shape as it gets older. Ultimately you have to find the method that works for you. Unfortunately there will be casualties. Totally agree with this and don't move them and don't frag them for atleast several months. I have $300 frags for 1/2" , and I have giant colonies for $50. It's whatever you like to do. it's your money. Once you been doing this for a long time, you start to "collect"name corals just for the beauty of the.

Just keep alk stable, stable, and stable and close to sea water as possible and you will have less problem with maricultured acros.

I know that's not 1/2".. I grew it from 1/2 inch.

:o wow that's a great price. Standard maricultures run $100 for the average nice piece in the dc. The run of the mill stuff sometimes will be 40 to 50 dollars but those are the green slimers and other alike pieces with not much color.

I see Beautiful Mariculture Acro Colonies for $25 to $35 but they always Die on me so I have to Pass :(
