It's the only thing that's different. Plus I'm getting excessive brown algae (presumably diatom???) that is coming to rest on my corals.

Ya im not sure. maybe my system had a slower ease into it? Since you just added suddenly maybe it caused an ammonia spike or something that went undetected.

Could be. If that were the case, hopefully I'm on the tail end and I don't lose anything else.
