Hello,

I have a 55 gallon acrylic tank that I want to make an external overflow box for. My question is would 1/4" acrylic be sufficient or should I use 3/8"? This is a picture of what I'm trying to replicate. It will be a bean animal about 14" w x 6" t x 4.5" d. Thanks.

So here is the box. Gonna fill the system with fresh water in a few hours to test for leaks. Fingers crossed.

Awesome job! The one thing I have had issues with 1/4 acrylic is with the bulkheads cracking them from the leverage of the pipe. But I use tubing which can have this issue, pvc doesn't unless it were to be caught on something and pulled.

I avoided that potential problem by clamping the pipe to a piece of unistrut attached to my stand. Supports the pipe and solid as a rock.
