Hey guys,

Wanted to ask this, previously I had setup a sandbox make out of rocks, which can hold around 3 inches or more of sands. I got a moyeri wrasse in my tank. But the wrasse everytime will make a in the sandbox and spilling out all the sands. But the sandbox only left like 10% of sand within. I yet to check currently does the wrasse still sleep in the sandbox or just sleep out on those thin layer of spilled sand.

Should I just take out the sand box and let it sleep on thin layer of sand if is got no issue with it?

Btw my tank was setup as a bare bottom tank. The sandbox had been setup for a year, the moyeri wrasse already being with me for around 5 or 6 months more.

If I’m honest, I’d be adding a 1 inch sand bed - these wrasses when young don’t require much, but if you want the healthiest fish long term, then get it a proper sand bed.
This doesn’t have to be a full tank sand bed, even just half the tank can be sand but it needs to be there, especially for leopards.

to be honest, my thought is to pour out the remaining to the back of the tank with 0 flow, together with all of those spilled sand from previously. My thought was either that OR i just refill back the sandbox.
