Ive seen it called "orange crush" as well. What exactly about an echinata makes it an agent orange?

I am not sure, I saw a thread the other day and someone was saying if it had green centers it was a Agent Orange. It is hard to tell from my pic but the centers of mine are lime green.

In the agent orange is just the center green or is there some splashes of green on the body as well?

I was told the same thing. Agent orange has green eyes and orange crush has brown eyes. They both have green and orange body. If there is other colors in the body I don't think it is either. I have a true orange crush and one called jaguar acan. It has green, brown and shades of blue in the body. The eyes all vary in color.

The Tyree Agent Orange is a subechinata, polyps are larger and more fleshy than typical echinata. Eyes are bright green and under high light bands of pink may be seen in the orange areas.

Yeah both of these acans are very similar but the eye are where you can tell them apart...i am pretty sure Unique Corals sells them both!

agent orange should be - orange body, neon green mouths, no other 'impurities' on the color

orange crush- orange body, blueish-grey mouths- no other 'impurities'

There's a ton of echinata's that fit really close to either of those however, so you'll see a lot of mixed namings, or people showing small frags and dropping those names on them (as the other colors don't show up until it grows out.)

Definitely echinata's are a super sweet coral, especially for those who run LEDs and can get that orange pop WAY beyond what any other lighting/coral combo can achieve IMO

Thanks for clearing that up db, especially about the "impurities". I see a lot of echinatas at the lfs that people give the generic term "orange crush".
