Hi, I have a clownfish that's lived peacefully with my firefish in a 20 gallon for 2 years and all of a sudden this morning I saw extreme aggression and most of my firefish tail is missing. the clownfish won't let it back down in it's cave. I have a thrown together a quick separation tank based on what's on hand at the moment but it's only 6 gallons.
Would the clownfish be alright in a 6 gallon for a few days until I find a rehome option? I'd rather not try to stick the firefish in there and cause it more stress. I have some extra dry rock that I placed in there along with some live rock rubble from my sump to help seed it and used tank water to fill. Just a cheap HOB filter, heater and acrylic petco tank setup.
Anybody had luck separating and re-introducing clownfish to help with aggression?
