amanda...that is a very nice tank and great looking scape even tho you don't like the left side....lol. I am still interested in those yellow/purple zoas if you ever decide to frag them. also I wanted to know if you could tell me your filtration on the tank and what salt you are using..thanks....mike

the main pump is a 1200gph mag drive which is located in the sump. we also have a koralia 3- 850 gph and a tom dive power 400gph

the sump. i run carbon and also a two fishes phosban reactor. this sump was originally stocked with bio balls. we cut out a portion of the inside divider panel and then cut out circle in the tray that used to hold a sponge above the bio balls so that it could be used for bag filtration. very happy with the changes. the bags are working wonderfully! as you can see i need to change the bag and clean the skimmer cup. yuck :)

bluegrass--- the salt is usually instant ocean and occasionally reef crystals. i purchase rodi from my lfs.

rebelboy--- thanks i think its okay but you know how it is when there is just something about it that you dont like :)

aquaman----- well i run carbon which i think really seems to have helped to keep the water clearer. and i have actally been fighting some algae probs so i blow off rocks with the turkey baster once a week. i also i change the bag every three days. i also keep my glass wiped down with a scrapper or with the mag cleaner.

thanks amanda for the info I basically have the same as you except my phosbane reactor is not up and running yet. I do have a question tho...how are you running a mag 12 for return pump? I can only use a 700gph return as my drain will not keep up. I do need to get some filter socks for mine also.

duh!!! my tank is also a 90rr looks exactly like yours.

well i dont know as much as i should about all the plumbing and pumps. but we have 3/4 inch going into the tank and 1 1/2 or 2 inch coming out. and everything seems fine. i dont know why you wouldnt be able to do more than the 700

a few minutes after putting the male in the tank they found eachother and got all cute for eachother lifting their fins up all nice and pretty. them hanging out a few mins. after finding eachother.

i am very happy with the new mandarin. the lfs ordered him for me and he is just magnificant. he is big and fat and happy and seems to be enjoying meeting our girl. they have been hanging out together all evening ! yay ! looks like weve got a love match :)

thanks you guys ! we used to have a green mandarin and a target mandarin before the disaster early in the year and they both did fine in the tank and had them for a couple years. so hopefully these will be fine.
