I've been noticing (& reporting) an increased amount of AI bots/interactions on the site. Has R2R started to look into plugins that detect LLM generated language and potentially take action on it? In particular I've been noticing some new member will join, and their initial posts will be very LLM-ish. I manually put it through a detector (+ my own techy judgement) and its pretty evident if someone is using it, especially for those who know what to look for. Are there any plugins or dare I say, AI features (LOL), to detect AI and block / ban those users or something? It's going to get very annoying very quickly if something isn't done soon. Once an entry point is discovered by agentic bots, they will start to flood and erode this community. Said out of concern and love for r2r.

Yo dawg. We heard you liked AI, so we used AI to detect for AI.

*Please note meant as fun and not disagreeing with what you are saying :)

Agree..... for some of the posts it's pretty obvious. I don't know if they are bots, or if someone just runs their ideas through an LLM to crank out a typed response for them.

This has been brought up many times in the past..... and the point isn't whether or not AI is useful.... it's that this site is for REAL people talking to REAL people, and muddying the water there could cause problems.

I'm sure there isn't any easy answer.....

Totally agree, Ironic as i dont see the benefit of cranking out chatgpt answers on a forum but maybe it helps people with ideas or quick info not exactly sure... Interesting to see for sure haha.

I don't think a plugin or bot is needed. As already noted, it would inject palpable irony given that the site's owners and general community don't want AI to begin with.

Some of us can easily spot it and do report it. I suspect that the community can police itself and do so without recreating 1692 Salem or turning the site into Minority Report's Precrime System.

We already have a BS decoder, shopping for answer decoder, mean people suck decoder, and now AI/Bot decoders. Probably why over the course of the next couple of years there will be a migration away from these platforms. That or we'll start segregating networks with one disallowing them...
