yea currently i'm still using the marineland reef capable led lights. they've kept my anemones very well for the last year and a half but they burned spots in my montiporas.... i'm looking to upgrade this summer and these look to be my #1 option

Which is pretty awesome. Must units do not have that and the ones that do usually require a purchased controller that costs a crap ton. So the fact that its built in saves money and makes life easier.

I have been using A.I. lights for the last 6 years. Had SOL blue, now Hydra 26. They make a great product and stand behind it. Great customer support if you ever need it.

With the Hydra 26 can it be run without a controller

No, you need a controller or director. I use the "new" controller (which is actually pretty old), cost about $70. The hydra is for bigger tanks though, has more "spread", but I was just commenting on the company Aqua Illumination and my experience with them.

I have a 12 gal all in one tank that has PC`s on It .It`s growing my corals but was thinking of upgrading to led .I got an e-mail about the AI prime which seems good , I figured for another C note I would get the Hydra26 ,but If I need to buy a controller the then Prime Is looking as a better deal.

Since I already have the Director for the tanks on my big tank I actually wish I could use it. Still will probably use it for a IM Fusion 10 gallon I'm planning.

I wondering If a Hydra 26 Is overkill for a 12gal nano the Hydra Is only 3 Inches wider and has twice leds . The tank Is 16x16x13 .

Absolutely it's overkills :) the prime would be a lot of light too but you can keep it at a lower setting

Looks like a great frag tank light. Smartphone control is awesome. Been looking at them for awhile, still waiting for the release date. Full spectrum LEDS!
