Hey everyone,

I’m rapidly upgrading all the components to my Evo 13.5 and one item I just bought was the AI Prime 16HD.

I just wanted to hear from people who have a “successful” tank with similar dimensions, and an AI prime to see what they’re using for light settings.

How high from the water surface should I put the light?
What preset/settings are you using
How high % should I have the lights running?
Any other helpful info?

Thanks

I have 2 on my 30 gallon mixed reef at 9 inches above the waters surface. I also have diffusers on the lights. I use a modified David Saxby schedule with solid success....nice color and decent growth.

Man I didn’t realize Saxby had such strong whites. Interesting.

Heavily modified version.... i guess the only part of his schedule I use is the up and down of intensity during my high noon hours.

Best schedule will depend on what corals you’re planning to keep. Particularly in a smaller tank. A schedule for softies and blastomussa will differ from a schedule for torch and acros. Do you have an idea of what you want to keep?

Right now it’s mainly softies and lps, but once I’m confident in my light setting knowledge I’ll be ready for an sps as well. Looking to do a full mixed reef
