ai sols/vegas advise

I'm looking for some advise on the vegas and sols. Someone local to me is selling some used ones. One guy is selling a ai vega black with controller, and an other guy has 2 ai sol blues with controller. I know really nothing about these lights and need some help in deciding whether or not I should get them. What should I be looking for? Obviously make sure they are working, but what about manufacturing date? Is there many problems with them when they first came out? Can I run them all together with one contoller?
Sorry for all the questions. If these would be a good buy I would like to pick them up asap befor someone else does.

SOLs vs Vegas

I saw your post and have some information to share with you regarding those LEDs. A friend of mine gave me a bunch of SOLs and Vegas to dispose of (sell) for him. I'm trying to decide which ones to keep and use over my tank. I installed the Vegas two days ago and was blown away by how much better my corals looked after swithcing them out with my old G2 Maxspects. I am really happy with the Vegas but at the same time have ordered the $175 SOL to Hydra upgrade from AI. Having used LEDs for 5 years now I know that having a more complete spectrum is really important to the health and growth of your corals. The SOLs are just too limited in my opinion to use over a reef. I'm either going to upgrade several SOLs to Hydras or just go with the Vegas. That is my 2 cents on the subject.
