I live in Martinez. I'm just starting out so I have nothing for trades yet. Good to know there is a fellow R2Rer near me.
Have you checked out Bob's lately?
Bob's used to have a terrible selection of Corals but has improved greatly over the last few months. I've gotten 6 fish from Bob's with no signs of illness. One died but was probably my parameter swings that killed him. The rest are fine after two months with my yellow Wrasse with the rest about a month ago and no issues.

I believe the nearest club on R2R is out of Atlanta.

hey there..yes good to talk to you..we should stay in touch on here so we can help each other with questions and maybe eventually trade some corals..I am basically a newbie myself..I started with a 55 in mid 2017 and moved up..so im still learning. I have been to bobs and they sometimes have some nice coral..when I started out I got my fish from there-but I mostly switched to online..I had a couple of fish from there die mysteriously..however I have some that are my orginal first fish that have done well..the reason I got paranoid about bobs and buying fish is when I saw a tang there really scratching..and I know this is kind of specualtion..but I dont like the way they keep them..in those tiny for sale blocks...on the top..or middle..I have seen larger fish that are obviously easily stressed..freaking out in there..I dont like the look of the way they keep the saltwater holding tanks..again..not to make you paranoid its just a feeling..again I have nothing to compare it to..its the only salt store I have been in ..you are right about the corals..I have only recently started trying to keep some ( mixed results) some good some ok some..not so good...what size tank do you have..and what fish do you keep..its good to hear from someone in the area

I have a build thread you can check out. https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/matts-natural-reef.488794/
It's not really organized at this time but you can check it out.

I have an SCA150 with a custom built stand. 50 sump/refugium with LR/rubble with a DSB and an attempt to grow multiple species of macros (ulva, red glaceria, chaeto). 200 lbs of LR with 17 lbs of that true LR from gulfliverock.com ,the rest was reefsaver dry.

So far I have added a CB Angel, yellow Wrasse, Red Lined Wrasse, Purple Dottyback, Lawnmower, and a Yellow Watchman/ shrimp pair.

I have an order of 12 LPS/SPS coming from Aqua SD tomorrow, I will post pics in my build thread.

Do you have a build thread?

I live in Norway, SC. I have some Pulsing Xenia, Greenish Zoa and frags of pipe organ. All three will over run you if not kept in check. Not in the reefing world to long term

Hows everyone doing? My tank is pretty new but I’m enjoying the process and hope everyone else’s is good also. It would be cool to see pics of local people tanks. Here’s a shot of mine

There are 2 groups here in Georgia

1 - ARC - Atlanta Reef Club
2 - New group not club Atlanta Reefers (www.atlantareefers.com) brand new group but doing more of what you are looking for, helping each other out, the other group, not so much. Join up. This is a new group that started about a week ago, due to a lot of issues with the actual club. Look forward to seeing you post up. I come to Aiken from time to time to visit a good friend. We can meetup next time I am there if you are free?
