And so it begins.

I have no idea what I'm doing

LETS BUILD A NANO REEF!

HelloReef C&A Kit
  • 15-Gallon Hello Reef All-in-One Glass Aquarium
  • 225 Micron Filter Sock
  • Ceramic Biological Media
  • Activated Carbon
  • Filter Sponges
  • Sicce Micra Plus Return Pump
  • 12” AquaIllumination Blade LED Light
  • Sicce Nano Circulation Pump
  • 50W Eheim Heater
  • Bulk Reef Supply Stick-on Thermometer
  • Caribsea LifeRock
  • Caribsea Live Sand
  • Two Little Fishes Underwater Epoxy Putty
  • Bulk Reef Supply Seawater Refractometer
  • Dr. Tim's Live Nitrifying Bacteria
  • Bulk Reef Supply Clownfish Food
  • Two Months of Aquaforest Reef Salt
  • Flipper Glass Scraper Card
ATO: Kamoer One 2 SE ATO

Buying a BRS 6 Stage RO/DI Unit in the near future

The plan so far is to stock with 2 Percula Clowns (if I can manage the bio load) and a heavy CUC including a Decorator Crab

I'd like a Pistol Shrimp/Watchman Goby combo as well.

Adding in two Anemones (1xBTA and 1xBeaded), considering a Carpet on the floor, if I can.

Probably gonna seed the tank with copepods, and add some macro algae to the tank scape.

Awesome.

Remember that any Anemones residing in the sand zone have the potential to kill and consume fish and inverts. Carpet Anemones in small tanks sometimes are not practical.

You're off to a great start.

Picked up the BRS 4 stage RODI system today

As well as Hanna testers for Alk, Phos, and Nitrates

And the copepods and phytoplankton

The LFS is amazing! Full coral, copepod, and phytoplankton farm. Great prices and people too!

Ok so as far as stocking goes I beleive I've settled on my CUC. Atleast to start.

5 Nassarius Snails
5 Trochus Snails
5 Blue Leg Hermits
1 Tuxedo Urchin

Plus the tank is and will continue to be seeded with copepods and phyto

Don't get the Urchin unless you plan on feeding it Nori every other day. Urchins are amazing animals, and bulldozers, frag kidnappers. I have one in my IM 14 gallon, they do nothing but eat so you'll have to supplement in a new tank with no algae.

Tank is looking good.

Oh yeah. I plan on feeding it because it's a new system. It won't be added right away, gonna let the CUC get settled then add a fish (maybe two)

Thanks!

Lots of little nooks and crannies for stuff to hide, but still be found

Contemplating some GSP for the back wall

Gsp on the back wall Is awesome although just make sure the rock is not touching the back wall! Try and give it a half inch at least since it can encrust and make its own bridge (not likely and very slow but possible haha)

That's great advice!

Yeah it's an inch off the wall in reality, whatever the HelloReef kit laid out, the glass and water definitely skew the perspective

I didn't realize that was a factor in keeping it off the glass too- that's cool!
