I tried them years ago for majanos and they would not touch them, ultimately had to put an Asfur angel in there.

Both the file and angel are likely to eat them but also have been known to turn on corals and eat/nip at them also

I’ve had a filefish nip at my lps but strangely the captive bred ones were the ones that did so. I had a wild one a few years ago and he didn’t touch anything but aiptasia but he passed on me when I upgraded to a bigger tank now I’m looking for a new one hopefully one that’ll eat the dreadful majanos

I have only had problems with the files eating fleshy LPS and clams. I have never seen one eat aptasia or majanos but when I put the file fish in the tank the anemones go away.

My copperband is doing a pretty good job on the aiptasia in my tank. I’ve only had him a couple of weeks and he’s knocked them back considerably.

They aren’t easy to QT, though. I gave up after a couple of tries and ordered mine from humblefish fully QT’d (and pre-trained to eat frozen from your hand lol) but, he’s not taking new orders at the moment unfortunately.
