Alright, here is the deal.
I have a relatively new tank (at this point, ~5 months old?) that doesn't have much coral. A few frags, zoa colony and GSP (branching) colony. I have dipped all the corals for at least 10-15 minutes in first revive and then fresh water. The last time I added a coral was a month back (or longer).
Yesterday my daughter's friend went "what is this"? On the sand bed was what they all described as a "flower". I looked at it, and although hard to tell looks like Aiptasia. I have no idea how I would have gotten it, and I don't have it anywhere else in the tank. That being said, I did pluck it off the sandbed and will keep an eye.
I am looking for validation that is it, and curious as to how I have only seen this one instance of it (if I haven't added anything in a month).
Edit
I also do not have anything that would eat it. Livestock is:
1) Bunch of snails
2) Brittle starfish
3) Angry little clownfish pair
