Hi

I've got Aiptasia in my tank, I know a common subject, I've got Peppermint Shrimp, Filefish and purchased Nudibrach, and TBH I thought had gone, but last night I was up late and no light on tank and I just looked around the tank with a torch (Mainly to see my starfish), and saw loads Aiptasia, I think I need to remove my landscape, which tbh is easy enough and I know not to disturb sand bed too much etc, and also know I won't get it all gone , but question is how is best to kill on the rocks when out of my tank ?, will I lose bacteria on rock (its around 3 years old) ? don't want to damage too much obviously, Thanks for help

When did you add the nudibranches and peppermint shrimp? Need to give them some time to eat them up. These are truly the best way, manual intervention just makes them spread faster.

6 months ago unfortunately
Nudi's are the best, but even they are not 100% fool proof. They eat all the aptaisia they can find, then they die of hunger. People often add many nudi's, so all the nudi's eat the aptaisia in just a few days and then die, but they never find the tiny little baby aptaisia and a month later the aptaisia starts to grow but but the nudi's are dead.

Not saying that happened to you, I don't know what happened, but I would say that nudi's are the best, go buy 1 or 2 only (for me it is 40 gallon I don't know your tank size). you will notice the aptaisia slowly die back

How many peps do you have. Sometimes people don't get enough and it's simply that the amount that the pep ate can't keep pace with new growth. Think about the biomass involved. 1 pep can only eat so many heads per day, and they likely also scavenge other foods like leftover fish food.

I had 3 in my 30G that eliminated my problem, then gave one away to a neighbor. The 2 I have now have kept the aip population in check ever since. My sump and piping is full of them so I know new heads will pop up here and there in the DT. I think of them as treats for my peps
