Got it. Ordered the Pod variant so probably backlogged as well

Yessir. You guys bombarded us with orders and inventory went fast (we appreciate it!). Hope to have most orders out by the end of this week, we are almost completely caught up. Appreciate the patience and working through it as quickly as possible.

Thank you for the update. Just a question. Do you guys ship a photo and pod bottle or something that I need to get outside

I have both the M (for pods) and S (for tetra phyto) up and running for about 5 months. My startup phyto and f2 fertilizer both came from Mercer & my startup pods were the 5280 from AlgaeBarn. Inital phyto was harvested after 1 month & my first pod culture was after 2 months. Now I harvest phyto weekly and pods every other week. I have an 850 liter mixed reef and wanted to increase biodiversity and the pod population for coral and fish food (but no dragonets or any other fish that depend on pods... yet). After harvesting the phyto, I set aside enough to reseed the S about 1/3rd. I sterilize the S container and lid by spraying it with 3% hydrogen peroxide & letting it sit for 15+ mins before rinsing it out with RODI water. I then add the 1/3rd phyto, 2/3rds 1.020 fresh saltwater, and 1ml of f2. After 1 week, I add an additional 1ml of f2. So far--but still early in the game--no crashes. I'm far less worried about a sterile environment for the M after harvesting pods & I'm starting to believe that some of the waste left at the bottom of the container actually helps increase the population growth of pods. After harvest and reseed, I find myself adding 10ml or so of phyto every other day. When the M water level rises above the max level line, I use a turkey baster to harvest some of the swimming pods and dump them right into the aquarium. Like others that have commented, I concur that the M and S pumps are a little noisy; I'll probably bypass them sometime soon. Overall, I'm satisfied with the setup. A bit pricey given the amount of phyto and pods that are harvested, but the setup is clean-looking and minimalist on space needed, which for me were big plusses.

We don't yet. TSA is a great source to get started with Pods/Phyto at the moment. We will have both available in the next few weeks.

Hey Dustin,
Here is a few pics have had mine setup for quite a while and churning out plenty of Nanno and Tetra along with an every 2 weeks packed jar of Tisbe and Tig pods. The phyto is coming out nice and dark and looks great under the microscope. My setup is in the basement and I am in the northern climate so the winters can get pretty brutal the summers are fine it is an ambient 69 degrees downstairs in the summer. That temp drops to about 62 in my basement in the winter so I have devised putting these plant heat mats around the containers and can get a steady 75 degrees no problem. I have them on an Ecoflow River 3 backup along with my router in case I lose power while gone. I have 2 Mandarins so the thousand dollars spent on this equipment will no doubt pay for itself in 12 months with what I was having to spend externally on pods and phyto. I know I could have done this much cheaper probably half of that but I like my fish lab to be clean and very accessible.
Thanks
Stephen

What is your method harvesting and restarting pods? Do you save any of the old water or strain the pods through a sieve? I noticed the pod core was pretty dirty and it's hard to clean. Maybe worth just leaving it as is? I dunno.

Last night I harvested my first pods and not sure if things could be better. I strained all the water out and put some pods into new saltwater. And rinsed the sieve in my tank to release the pods into the water column. I harvested after only 3 weeks. Maybe I rushed it. But they were eating 100ml and of phyto per day. I'm not making enough Phyto in S to sustain that! lol.

I was actually thinking of doing Phyto on M and pods in S. 3D print a pod pod (pod pod!) for the S. Any reason S won't work for pods?

I hear you on the pods eating that's why I run 2 of them. Each of my pod M's eat about 60ml a day so a weeks worth just for them is 840 ml then I use about 500 ml to re-culture leaves me with 100 ml per night for my 181 gallon tank. About every 2 weeks they are really dense in mine and I will meticulously run all several times through the sieve system I concocted. It consists of a 250 into a 120 into a 53 while using a canning funnel. Drill some holes in the bottom of an algaebarn jar and it works perfect just stand it in a decent sized stainless bowl. I fill up 2 bowls with 1000 ml of fresh saltwater in each so as I sieve anything in the 53 is going back in the culture. The 120 mostly goes in the bowl designated for my tank and believe or not some do end up in the 250 and they are going to the tank also. I might add one pour of the 120 back into the culture also just shine a light in there and make sure you are establishing enough of them. I strain the whole business a second time as no matter what some make it through. I only put the 1000 ml of culture pods back into the M after cleaning it out the rest gets filled up over the next 2 weeks when adding phyto. The pod core offsets some of the volume so it works very well that way. Been running it this way for about 2 months now (4 harvests) and it seems to be working out well as I am getting a lot more I can visually see than I have ever gotten from Algaebarn. The reef nutrition ones are great but I had to drive 25 miles to get those from where I live.

Dustin,
Did they scrap this idea? I do not even see it on the Aussie site anymore. I was wondering if it would have issues pushing enough air through as I use small little inline Hepa filters and even those drastically cut the air flow.

I wouldn't say scrapped it, just fine tuning details. We also just launched a new version of the site, so only loaded what we are currently offering, so that probably explains it even more. It should still be something we see here, we just throughly test before releasing anything because we want to ensure it meets the standards we set.

Yes noticed that you guys finally merged good idea do it slowly and viola
