Aleks 220G tank with large sump and fuge

Was thinking to create this build thread here too for showing my lazy reef setup.



Not doing so much, so not too much to share but basic information

Display size: 220G
Sump: 180G
Frag tank: 50G

Its been running for about a year now.

A bit lazy. I dont do anything. No water changes, no cleaning, no siphon, no sump cleaning, no skimmer emptying etc. I do what I like with the tank, no chores.

Since we all do some tweaking on our photos I think it's a bit interesting sharing some totally unedited photos of my tank. Here they are totally unedited, of course horrible white balance, but it's a good baseline for others

Important to share the good and the bad!

Also installed an auto skimmer cleaner today. Sprays inside and outside. Not connected the outside part yet, but going to do more tomorrow.

Totally agree on the approach. My setup is kinda similar, but minus the large sump. My winter project will be to build a new one and add a refugium.

Its GHL Mitras LX7 (3x) on the main tank and 1x GHL Mitras LX7 on the frag tank

Overview of the sump room. The rollermat is not in use, but with one twist of a knob it can be activated. Was thinking to run the water through the rollermat into the frag tank, but not decided yet.

Should not "really" use filters with triton, but since I have it at least I have the option.

It's working very well. At least since I got so much ghl stuff it integrate well. Just need to be careful calibrating it

Apart from the gorgeous rock nem your pics are just over exposed mostly, helpful criticism hopefully, I don't do photoshop but my windows picture editor allows me to adjust exposure.
