Have had reef tank for like 20 years . Started this tank back in Jan/feb. all is going well . Bi weekly 20 % water chages( rodi and coral pro black bucket) Kessil 360 on a 32 biocube /skimmer/ purigen and chemi pure elite with seachem matrix on bottom of in tank basket. All levels within parameters. Never had this kinda algae , or whatever it is. From the front you can’t see it but seems to be growing just in the spots of what I thought was coraline . Any idea? Not the best pics but short white and fuzzy. Thought about scraping and sucking out but will it spread? Anyone? Leave it be do water changes ? Change filter floss weekly . Have wave maker for surface agitation also .

The images depicting the fuzzy white growth looks similar to Crystophytes.
Did you use dry rock or live rock?
Is there a specific issue that you are using the Chempure or Purigen for? Are you measuring N and P?

A UV may be of assistance.

The tank is still really really young. Being an experienced hobbyist you know that it may take many months to for the usual suspect algae growths to settle down.

I’ve always used the chemo pure and purigen . Always had good luck with it. I know the phases but have never had this white fuzzy stuff. N is minimal as well as phosphates . Actually started to take the elite out due to soaking up some of the nutrients. It’s a new bloom I know nothing about. Thoughts of just watching it? Regular water changes? Maybe just a cycle it’s in ? I just know how quick some algae’s and issues can blow up .
