Hello all, looking for some help in identifying the algae that has been in my tank for a few weeks now. It looks similar to diatoms but is more hair like.

100g system (3 months old)
0 nitrate
.15 phosphate

new tank syndrome. seems like diatoms turning into dino's or GHA. time to put in a clean up crew.

cerith, nerite, asterea (both regular and "ninja star"), and trochus snails should help you through this phase. be mindful of how much you feed as this could lead to higher nutrients.

slowly lower your phosphate whilst bringing your nitrate up. you want to have 3-15 nitrate, and .03-.15 phosphate. any number around those values should be okay as long as your filtration/CUC can keep up with it.
