Algae Id

Is this a form of byropsis. It's brownish green with what looks like a lighter green filter feeder top. Not sure how to describe it. It's been in my tank for a year and it's grown really slow. It's now covering up a third of my rock and i want it gone. Thks for any help.

Well, first things first. If you wanted it gone, waiting a year to decide is unwise when it comes to algae. So make it gone (by hand) and we'll talk about the rest when you get back. I'll wait here....

Ok, whatever it is/was has been removed from the tank and you are back, right? :)

I do not see anything that looks like Bryopsis, but those photos are not clear on detail. Maybe try pics in pure white light? Can you zoom in more? Maybe shoot on a tripod and with flow off?

If I had to guess from those photos, maybe neomeris and/or hair algae and/or something completely different like hydroids.
