Been fighting this for a long time and even discarded previous sand and cleaned rocks in a peroxide solution this past summer. All was good until several months ago when it reappeared. I'm hoping for a few ideas on how to remove this scourge.

Characteristics:
1) Light brown film algae that grows on all surfaces of the tank. It appears to be photosynthetic as shown in the picture with rocks. The bright white rock just came from sump (which is about 90% dark all the time). You will also notice underneath the white rock is another small clear patch that was covered by the previous rock.
2) The growth is slimy, will develop streamers (if left untouched) and will also entrap bubbles occasionally. Does grow pretty fast
3) It can be easily removed from the rock by using either a toothbrush or baster.
4) Does not appear to be killing the coral however I tend to brush the rock several times a week

Currently trying:
1) Vibrant at 12ml twice a week (i have a 120 gallon system, 90 gal 4 foot tank) and have just finished dose 4
2) Just finished a 3 day blackout which seem to push it back a little bit but it's still present.
3) added 20 Nerite and another 20 cerith snails to go along with my 12 trochus, 8 scarlet hermits and a conch

Tank Parameters:
Alk: 8 dkh
Calc: 420 ppm
Mag: 1600 ppm
PH: 7.9 - 8.1 (helping to maintain this with Kalk)
PO4 and NO3 : 0
No GFO (took offline about a month ago)
Running Carbon and Skimmer (dry)
Run 8 bulb Giesemann T5. All 8 bulbs for 6 hours, 6 bulbs for 8 hours and 2 bulbs for 10 hours a day

Stock:
Vrolik Wrasse, Ocellaris Clownfish, 3 Gold Assessor Basslets, 2 lps, 4 sps

I have a feeling I may have stripped most nutrients from the tank a few months back since I don't have any green algae present and very. very little coralline algae.
