I’m a fairly new reefer. I’ve only been in the hobby for a few months. During this time I’ve had some algae blooms, but nothing too monstrous.

Now, I’m beginning to see this new type of algae “bloom” explode all over my gravel. It doesn’t look too bad, except for the brown parts. Otherwise it reminds me of rolling green hills.

Can anybody help me identify this:

I’ve been looking online, but haven’t found anything that looks similar. Is it even algae or something else?

Thanks in advance for the help!
