I've been dealing, or trying to deal, with some increased algae lately. I had attributed this problem to new lights, and essentially the more effective use of what nutrients were already present, not necessarily increased nutrients, as I'm really not measuring any.

Well, today when cleaning my skimmer overflow I realized the air outlet, full of what was supposed to be dry GAC, was sopping wet, actually pooling water. This was preventing normal air flow and skimming action.

Skimmer's going gangbusters now. Feeling pretty silly. Guessing my algae is going to die back pretty quick now.

It was a tropical island where he had peace and quiet granted. But all he had to eat was fish, crabs, and coconuts for four years! Can you imagine. Lol. Besides knowing that all your loved ones think your dead. Maybe it would be good to be there a few months at a time but not years.
I searched Google recently for if there might be any islands not known to man, but with satellite it's not possible. But there are probably islands where no human traffic ever goes to but are still mapped.
I just wonder how many us would survive that situation? Would you or I ever think of building a raft out if tree bark or could build it to where it would work? What would happen if pirates found you?
